WHAT DID HE REALLY SAY? WHY DIDN'T HE WRITE DOWN ANYTHING? THE QUEST FOR THE HISTORICAL JESUS!! ESSAYS BY D.G. BESHORE INTRODUCTION This is an exciting time to be investigating the historical Jesus. Why is the historical Jesus different than the one we grew up with? Well, that question goes back to how you were taught and by whom and in what congregation. I have attended several churches over my lifetime (RLDS, First Christian, Baptist, Catholic) and wondered why there weren't straight answers to who Jesus was and what could he ever do for me. The last question is....why didn't he write something? This single question has led me down a path of truth that I could not have really expected 7 years ago. I have been to Israel, spoken in churches of my miraculous recovery and salvation and have baptized others in the name of the Lord. I am a Promise Keeper and have attended four conventions in the last four years. I sit down and tell others who I think God and Jesus are. The quest continues, as I became a born-again Christian on 9 Feb 92, and the following documents are based on my research and Judeo-Christian and world religion studies. They were part of my studies and graduation at Cal Lutheran University - Thousand Oaks, CA. I hope you enjoy them and do not feel threatened or provoked - stimulated yes. I do hope you think about who Jesus was and who he now is. My quest started with the three questions on the title page of this page. He has taught me so much through the Good Book and through others. Keep your hearts clean and pure and he will show you the way...come I will show you.
