On top of Pasour Mountain, between Dallas and Cherryville, NC, a memorial stone was erected in 1967. It reads, " Pasour, Paysour, Payseur, Paseur: Pioneer George Pasour (Bashore) was buried in a church cemetery near here, giving this mountain its name. Through son George Pasour, Jr. (1764-1851) and wife Hannah Hoyle, sprang many descendents."
