Mary believed to have moved to Chambers Co with her sons Farr and John in the fall of 1832.
(An official investigating her claim to a Rev War pension visited her at the home of her son, John)

We do not know the parents of Mary Turner, but she had a brother, namenotknown , killed in the Revolution who had a son John, and this Johnnamed a son Marmadu ke.
This was the name of the Turner who came to Virginia as an immigrant fromL ondon in 1635.
It seems probably that the immigrant was the progenitor of the Turnerfamily living in Union District, South Carolina in the 1770's.
Mary had a sister and at least three brothers, all born in Virginia.
The sister, Susann ah, married Martin Hammond who served in the Revolutionin Brandon's Regiment wi th several Trammell boys, including Thomas, andseveral Turners.
Actually, ther e were four Hammonds, five Trammells and six Turners inBrandon's Regiment....
Mary believed to have moved to Chambers County with her sons Farr andJohn in th e fall of 1832

Inscribed in her gravestone are these words: "Sacred to the m emory ofMary Trammell, wife of Thomas Trammell, who departed this life August 2 8,1851, in the 94th year of her age. For 60 years a member of Methodistchurch e xemplifying in her life the virtue of the Christian religion."

'Tis finish ed, 'tis done
The spirit has fled
The Prisoner is gone
The Christian is livi ng
Through Jesus's love
And Gladly receiving
A kingdom above."
